No Thinking Required

It's good to have an ignorant populace. Keep them stupid and they won't think about or even question the pap the politicians regularly spew. It also helps in keeping the military well populated: "Sorry, son, yer too stupid fer college. You can have a nice choice of the Army, Navy, or Air Force."

So why a comment about ignorance? One of the reasons we invaded, excuse me, liberated Iraq was because of a supposed link between Hussein and Al Qaeda. Despite no links yet found one of the common arguments for such a link is the old "Enemy's enemy is my friend" reasoning. But that is not proof and it's not even common sense.

For example, let's play a game called "Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon". Bush - our president - knows and has done business with the Bin Ladens (but not Osama - we think). This is fact. The Bin Ladens do include the known terrorist Osama as a family member. This is fact. By all "reasoning" Bush therefore is *linked* to Osama and this too is fact.

But it is not proof that Bush supports or supported Osama Bin Laden. Correlation does not mean causation. Hussein may have a link somewhere to Al Qaeda but it is not proof that he supported the group. "Enemy's enemy as friend" doesn't even show a link. It's pure conjecture.

Along a similar lines, if, in Iraq, we find chemicals and hardware that *could* be worked into some sort of weapon of mass destruction, it doesn't mean Hussein would have used them to build such a weapon. You could go into a typical American household and find chemicals to build a variety of weapons but that doesn't mean Mr. and Ms. Joe Household were going to do so.

We're talking Smoking Guns and Bush has yet to provide any such evidence to support his reasons for the invasion of Iraq.

What stinks about this war is that Bush et al have forsaken honesty, integrity, and even American principles (like "Innocent until proven guilty") for their own agenda. And in doing so they push reasoning out the window - you can't question their actions or motives and get a straight answer.

Instead they want you to ride the emotion of winning and with America rolling over Iraq that emotion is positive and powerful. With the American and British media reporting with a "Rah! Rah!" bias the emotion is lopsided - you're either a winner and support our actions or a traitor, an enemy.

When the emotion starts to wane and questions about our awful economy rear up, rest assured Bush will have the solution. Syria, Iran, and then re-election.

Because we like winning and it doesn't take brains to win when you have the U.S. Military behind you.

I Got It!

Now I understand why we did what we did in Iraq and why we going to do what we're going to do in Syria and Iran. It's not about war; it's about peace. To bring about peace in the Middle East we *HAVE* to replace the regimes that stand in the way of such a process. Our display of military might and prowess in Iraq was the warning shot - "Get your acts together or face the terrible consequences!"

Thats why Israel told the Palestinians to stop the terrorism. The U.S. is a-coming and a-coming with force.

Beautiful. Surely peace in the Middle East is a goal we can all live with and support. Kudos to Bush et al for devising and implementing this bold and decisive plan.

If...

If only Bush could have implemented the plan without the lies and all the other illegal activities...

Bush may get the Nobel Prize for Peace when this is all done but they'll have to give it to him on the scaffold when he's hung for war crimes.

It's Over?

So Bush is sending MOABs to Iraq and we still have the kickass tank group sitting in Kuwait. Darn shame not to use them. Waste of taxpayers money to let the tanks and MOABs to bring them all back (unused). I say let's liberate Syria! To heck with rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan - bunch of backwards yokums - we're on a roll. Syria, Iran, Lebanon...the whole frigging Middle East. Heck, let's take over Israel too. We'll make the Middle East safe for Christianity...er...Democracy.

Come on Crusader George. Slay the Middle East dragon. There's a few billion barrels of oil waiting for you...
